Cupping/Gua Sha Therapy

6 CEU       Instructor – Souri Sisavath

All classes are from 9am – 3pm

 What is Cupping ?

Cupping is a medical practice where cups are placed on parts of the body to create a suction effect which raises the skin and draws the blood to the surface. It is used throughout Asia, the Middle East, and Europe to treat pain, swelling, inflammation, migraine, rheumatism, bronchitis, and the common cold. Recent studies suggest that it could also be a promising form of treatment for a host of other ailments, as well. Blood immediately rushes to the area, creating a painless cupping mark which actually feel good.

Those who have gone through the procedure claim it feels like a massage in reverse. Instead of pressure bearing down against the skin, it feels like the skin is being pushed outward, instead. Depending on how the cupping mark occurs, its coloration, and how long it lasts, practitioners can tell where problems are located and can prescribe different treatments accordingly.

Cupping will leave marks, or skin discolorations, called petechia. It is important to note that this is the therapeutically desired effect.  Cupping therapy, after thousand years of development, perfection and improvement, has been accepted by more and more people. Since the field of application of cupping therapy is wide, its efficacy is good, its cost is low, and its characteristic of easy operation and safety without side effects, it is called a new “natural therapy in 21st century”.

What is Gua Sha ?
Sometimes, cupping is also done in tandem with gua sha, which literally means scraping. This involves oiling the skin then scraping it with a coin, ceramic spoon, or a scraper made of rhino horn (which is extremely smooth and silky, yet hard) or jade.

This is used to treat fever, exhaustion, sore muscles, and even cellulite. Whatever they use, the skin is scraped along meridian points, which is where the acupoints lie. This treatment causes soreness after a few minutes, and leaves bright red scratch marks on the skin, which fade after 2 to 4 days. Often, the scratches fade long before the bruises from cupping do.

Note: Gua Sha is part of traditional folk remedies, it is used throughout Asia.

**Come out and learn both perfect combination of two therapies (Cupping/Gua Sha) in one day of simple, easy, reasonable affordable price and a lot of hands practicing. Why wait? Why spend so much money in so many days of training of traditional folk remedies which can be very powerful tool to enhance with the massage to ease your hands and earn extra income by offering this new services to your clients.  All classes are  9am – 3pm

What are the Chakras?

The human body contains hundreds of locations where there is focused and concentrated energy. There are, however, seven major energy centers, commonly referred to as “chakras”. Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means “wheel”. The chakras are similar to wheels, in that they are spinning vortexes of energy. They are centers of force, located within our etheric body, through which we receive, transmit and process life energies.

To help us in the process of our unfoldment it is most important to understand that the chakras are “doorways” for our consciousness. They are doorways through which emotional, mental, and spiritual force flow into physical expression. They are openings through which our attitudes and belief systems enter into and create our body/mind structure. The energy created from our emotions and mental attitudes runs through the chakras and is distributed to our cells, tissues, and organs. Realizing this brings tremendous insight into how we ourselves affect our bodies, minds, and circumstances for better or worse.

The Beneficial Effects of chakra work

Chakra work is an energy therapy that improves the condition of your energy system. Through simple exercise, you can raise your level of energy and strengthen your powers of intuition. You will learn to recognize sickness and problems that arise from energy blockages and find ways to dissolve these blockages. Activation of the chakras is a simple and effective method for healing body, mind, and spirit.

Improved powers of concentration. Sharper memory. Elimination of the grounds for negative thinking. Disappearance of boasting and self-pity. Clarity of mind and spirit. Recognition of one’s true purpose in life. Seeing what is really important.

The lotus blossom symbolizes the passage from darkness into light and is a fitting symbol for the chakras.

Come and learn one day workshop of 6 hours to help yourself and others. Chakra work is one of the subtlest methods of healing. The chakras are important energy centers in the body that can be activated and harmonized using certain techniques. This will lead to marked improvements in physical and mental health, psychological stability, and inner peace. You will learn and find many ways to connect with your chakras and their subtle energy.  You can pick one particular method or try several at once — Whatever brings the best results. You can use the methods as a guide to your own personal practice. Always follow your intuition in chakra practice and listen carefully to your inner voice.

Ear Candling

6 CEU       Instructor – Souri Sisavath

All classes are  9am – 3pm

Ear Candling is the holistic way of treating ear aches and other common issues related to the ear. It is best defined as the use of an ear candle which is a beeswax or paraffin wax coated cloth that is shaped into a conical cylinder about 10” to 15” in length with varying widths. Ear Candling is a therapeutic relaxation technique similar to acupressure, acupuncture, and aromatherapy.

The Benefits of Ear Candling

As a complementay therapy, Ear Candling not claim to cure any disorders. However, therapists who carry out this treatment all agree that one of its most marked effects on their clients as a feeling of total relaxation. When the body reaches this state, many positive health benefits result. The parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated leading to lowered heart and respiratory rates and increases peristalsis in the digestive system. This state of relaxation produces positive healing chemicals in the body and is an antidote to the harmful chemicals produced when the body is under constant stress. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence showing the positive effects of ear candling and hopefully more empirical evidence will become available as complementary and alternative therapists are encouraged to carry out research in the course of their work.

It is said that ear candles can be used to alleviate symptoms ranging from simple ear aches, sinus infections, and sinus pressure, aiding sinusitis, releasing blocked energy, relieving pressure points of tension, and overall just being a soothing relaxing therapy.

An ear candling treatment can be enhanced by massage of the face, neck scalp and ears. This sequence includes effleurage, pressure points, gentle friction and lymphatic drainage and combines with ear candling, the whole treatment should take around 45 minutes. The massage may be omitted if the client does not wish to have it due time constraints or personal preference of if they present with contraindications to massage.

Come and learn the proper way how to carry out this treatment as the way to help yourself or others to keep clients who ask for Ear Candling session instead of sending clients away to somewhere else, because you do not offer this service to clients.
